1972 Camaro story. Over 25 years ago a friend bought this car. He started doing rust repair got fed up and sold it to me. I finished the repairs and sold it to another friend. He took out drive train to build a race car. It moved once. Then it got parked out side for the next 20 years. Mice moved in, paint blistered and rust started back. I always missed this car. Then one day he goes you want that Camaro back? A deal was struck and we pulled it home. It then sat out back. I realized I no longer had the driving desire to redo this car. A year went by. Then Son Mike showed interest. I said he could have the car. But he had two years to get running and driveable. If he did not car and all parts would revert back to me. Also if he got it done and needed to sell for school, I have first right to buy. He turned 16 and got working. I paid no attention to time. Then one week end he is putting together quickly. I say hey whats up. He said the two year mark was close. During the first two years I made him do another car to practice. Then sent him to metal meet for training. I told him no worrys about time deal. Get the car done properly. Any rust hole issues were welded and fabricated properly. My job was only to supervise and help only if asked. He spent hundreds of hours on body alone. Over 65 hours blocking primer alone. He decided on a mandarin orange pearl. Car stats.
