Blue 64 Page three

Blue and black. Cap shows difference. Cap is faded. Steering box is the beginning of assembly!!!!!!!. Fly wheel resurfaced. Pressure plate from Hugh. Notice the uneven ring. After install it will be adjusted. Trial fitting clutch disk. Always do this. I needed to run file on splines so clutch would move smoothly. Tank is sent out for hot tanking to get rid of goo. Nasty parts have to be cleaned and inspected. Clutch cable was on its way out. Fan shroud after hot tank. Oil pan has inch thick goo too. Oil pan goo is normal in the Amphis. It looks bad but actually is ok. No metal chunks. Valve cover blue and rust, sand blast clean and paint. The same program for just about everything. The engine is in!! I can not wait to see more blue.

The work to get to this point, yikes. The flash changes the blue color to a green. Pic with window frame is just a comparison shot. Pedals, cables, every little part gets attention. Engine area , almost all the blue is gone except for oil cap. That green lawn chair has sailed many Amphicars. I messed up and did not show the movement between bays. She runs, drives and stops!

Seats are almost done.  Hood had some extra rust issues. Now is smooth. Holes are drilled in frame so Oxysolve can work on hidden rust. After paint lots of Amsoil will be sprayed in too. Gas tank hot tanked and sanded.

Block and sand. The car is off to paint booth.

Getting closer.

Believe it or not, lots of work left to do.
